Aquest edifici va esser construit a partir de l’any 1839 segons plànols de l’arquitecte Ildefonso Hernández. L’arquitecte va projectar al cap de cantó una llotja bessona a la que s’havia fet un altre a l’atre costat no feia massa anys. No és que com la façana que projectava, era d’enorme llargària, disposà una altre llotja a l’altre cap de cantó, distribuint així la façana en tres cossos: el central més baix, amb una porta majestuosa d’ordre gegant amb portal d’arc carpanell, delimitat per dos estípits que aguanten dos atlants. L’entaulament corona amb frontó corb ostentant l’escut comtal sostingut per dos grifs alats. El frontó corona amb dues figures sedents. La façana està recorreguda per poderoses pilastres embegudes fins a l’altura del primer pis principal, que acaba en el cos central amb una balustrada de pedra adornada amb busts de pedra.

Els cossos laterals són d’una gran monumentalitat. Les llotjes están recorregudes per sis pilastres d’orde compost entre les quals s’obren els arcs i coronen amb un gran entaulament amb fris llis i cornisa dentellada que soporta sis grans hídres.

La façana del Carrer Major, ( conegut com Carrer de Cas Comte ) que ocupa pràcticament la longitud del carrer, és d’una gran simplicitat. Està recorreguda per una doble filera de finestres, interrompudes a la planta inferior per una porta delimitada per dues columnes cilíndriques que sostenen un entaulament al centre del qual destaca un rostre femení, amagat per un vel subtil.

En aquesta casa s’allotjà la reina Isabel II quan desembarcà a Ciutadella i rebé l’acatament dels principals de la ciutat. La cadira que emprà, és la que reposa damunt una tarima i està dirigida de cara a la pared, perquè ningú la torni a emprar.
